The Planning Commission is working on a new Comprehensive Plan, which recommends Township’s policies to manage growth and development for the next 15 years. The Plan will include recommendations for changes to the Township’s development regulations.
In addition to land use and housing matters, the Plan will address natural features, transportation, community, facilities and services, as well as implementation.
On the 4th Tuesday of each month, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Center, the Planning Commission is holding public meetings to develop the Comprehensive Plan. Urban Research and Development Corporation has been retained to assist in the preparation of the Plan. The Consultant and the Commission will:
• Coordinate township efforts with the Dauphin County Comprehensive Plan.
• Collect background information on existing conditions and make projections through to 2025.

• Establish an implementation schedule.
• Review and recommend specific actions for treatment of the Route 22 and Linglestown Road corridors.
• Inventory, analyze, and make recommendations regarding redevelopment opportunities of underutilized commercial properties.
