Comprehensive planning is a process through which a community evaluates and develops policies (for growth and development). The comprehensive plan is multi-faceted, including information about existing and future land use, natural and cultural features, transportation needs, and the provision of required facilities and services. Lower Paxton Township's plan is designed to acquaint the reader with our community, while identifying actions necessary to promote sustainable development and maintain our high quality of life.
To address community planning needs the Board of Supervisors, in conjunction with the Planning Commission, adopted and maintains a Comprehensive Plan. This plan and its amendments have been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. The current edition of this plan was adopted in 2003, and has served as the framework for updates to zoning, subdivision and land development, and other regulations and policies.
