Lower Paxton Township possesses a vacancy in the position of Communication Manager.

The Communications Manager is responsible for, but not limited to coordinating internal and external public relations communications in various formats including websites, publications, social media, public presentations and press releases.  The Communications Manager serves in at-will status and is classified as an exempt employee in accordance with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  This is s regular full-time position that is classified as a Manager Level 2 within the Township’s administrative employee compensation plan.

Desired Skills:
Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Knowledge and ability to use computer hardware, software, office software programs, spreadsheets and database programs.
Knowledge of website development and social media platforms.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of public relations and communications.
Knowledge of Township procedures, polices, rules and regulations and it’s governing Boards.
Ability to type/word process with speed and accuracy using standard word processing program.
Ability to organize tasks to meet appropriate time schedules.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
Ability to work independently and creatively to complete complex assignments.
Ability to exercise good judgement, courtesy, and diplomacy in dealing with the public and coworkers.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates and other agencies.
Ability to work nonconforming schedules based upon demand.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, public administration or other related field.  Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in organizational communications or related activities with municipal government.  Experience in computer hardware/software, desktop publishing, website development, social media platforms and content. Valid Penna. driver’s license.

The salary of the Communications Manager will be based upon qualifications and work experience.  The salary range is $67,196 - $74,460.
