Compost Facility Attendent (part-time) - Lower Paxton Township possesses a vacancy in the position of Compost Facility Attendant at the Compost Facility on Conway Road.  This is a part-time, seasonal position that averages up to fifteen hours per week in season. The Compost Facility Attendant reports to the Public Works Director.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Regular and predictable attendance, including weekends.
2. Communicate effectively with individuals entering the facility.
3. Prepare written reports and daily logs in a clear concise manner.
4. Verify items delivered comply with compost facility standards.
5. Verify vehicle displays a valid permit.
6. Exercise sound judgment and be capable of working independent of direct supervision.
7. Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
8. Perform duties in extreme outside weather conditions where they are occasionally exposed to heat, cold, wet/ humid conditions and to airborne particles/ dust.
9. Provide direction on proper placement and disposal of yard waste.
10. Assure compliance with established rules/ guidelines for the Compost Facility.

The Compost Facility Attendant is a part-time seasonal employee.  Hours of work shall be 7:15 AM to 5:15 PM, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of each week. The compost facility operates from the first Tuesday in April until the third Tuesday in December, weather permitting.

Inspector - Sewer Department - Lower Paxton Township possesses a vacancy in the position of Inspector in the Sewer Department. This is a full-time position. The Inspector is an upper level position in the Sewer Department who is directly responsible to the Operations Manager. The position performs essential job functions for Sewer Department Maintenance Mechanics I & II, Equipment Operators and Meter Technicians. The rate of pay for the Inspector shall be in accordance with the Sewer Department collective bargaining unit agreement for existing personnel. The hours of work for this position will typically be between 6:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Monday – Friday or 6:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday – Thursday.

The Inspector reviews in-field sanitary sewer construction and maintenance activities, applying judgment based upon specific rules and regulations, and knowledge gained through specialized training and work experience.  The work of the Inspector involves oversight and administrative duties with respect to sanitary sewer construction and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or high school equivalency is required.

Demonstrated proficiency, in part through testing, is required in the following:
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance procedures, materials, and techniques that relate to sanitary sewer facilities and systems, including some basic engineering knowledge.
• Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governing sanitary sewer facilities.

A minimum of two years experience in the maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer facilities is required. 
Some training and experience in general construction trades and codes enforcement is desired.
Possession of a valid Pennsylvania CDL Class B License is required.
