Mural Contest for Possibility Place

Call for Entries:
This is a local competition and artists from throughout Lower Paxton area are sought for this competition. All murals must incorporate the playground title: “Possibility Place”.
The mural will be displayed outside of the Possibility Playground at George Park on a 4’ x 8’ sign.
The goals are to support and promote a local artist and, at the same time, re-emphasize the vision of Possibility Place as an inclusive playground for all.
If known images are used, the artist is responsible for obtaining all copyright permission and paying all license fees. Copies of any permissions and licenses must be provided to the Lower Paxton Township Parks & Recreation Department
Entry Process: Applicants for the contest must submit a registration form and a (300 dpi) jpeg of the artwork.
- Limit one piece of art per artist.
- Artwork must be drawn on a scale of 2:1 ratio to ensure it will be proportionately sized when converting to a 4’x 8’ sign. (Maximum size is 4’ x 8’)
- All applications must be submitted by August 1st.
- All ages welcome to submit an entry.
Restrictions Art Painting:
Business names, logos, branded tags, acronyms, trademarks, and any commercial, religious, or political advertising is prohibited.
Contest Winner Prize:
Winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000 sponsored by the Lower Paxton Township Community Engagement Committee.

The Arts Council will cover the expense of the final product. A high-resolution jpg (300 DPI) of the original artwork will be submitted to a local sign company that will create a 4’ x 8’ foot vinyl UV coated decal to be placed on a microfiber dense board. The vinyl sign will be displayed at Possibility Place for a minimum of 5 years. The original artwork will be displayed at the Municipal Center.
