The Mountain Road ramp in LPT will be closed for 80 days.
This information has been provided directly from PennDOT (4/1/21):
A detour will begin next week for the Mountain Road ramps to southbound Interstate 81 in Dauphin County. The closure is due to a scheduled lane restriction associated with an approximately 2-mile sound wall project that extends from Interstate 83 (Exit 70) to Mountain Road (Exit 72).
The 80-day detour is scheduled to be implemented at 9 PM Tuesday, April 6. Motorists on Mountain Road wishing to access southbound I-81 should travel on northbound I-81 to Linglestown Road (Exit 77), then access southbound I-81 from Linglestown Road. An alternate route would be Mountain Road to westbound Route 22 to northbound I-83 to the I-81/I-83 Split (Exit 70) to southbound I-81.
This $8,982,712 contract was awarded to Deblin Inc., of Mechanicsburg, and includes the construction of six sections of sound wall, drainage improvements, shoulder widening, new guide rail, barrier, signs and pavement markings. This project is expected to be completed in November of 2021.
