Lower Paxton Township Surpasses City of Harrisburg After Release of 2020 US Census Data
Harrisburg, PA – Lower Paxton Township is pleased to announce, with the release of the 2020 US Census Data from the US Census Bureau, the City of Harrisburg has officially become the largest suburb of Lower Paxton Township.
Lower Paxton Township has now eclipsed the City in population with 53,501 residents. The City of Harrisburg boasts just 50,099 residents. Since 2010, Lower Paxton Township has increased in size by over 12%, while the City increased by 1%. Since surpassing the City, the Township has vowed to not enact a commuter tax on city residents and promises to continue to be an outstanding neighbor, welcoming visitors from the City to the largest municipality in Dauphin County and the Midstate!
