Ball Field / Court ReSERVATIONS

Lower Paxton Township has a wide variety of fields and courts for all sorts of sports!

You can play football, baseball, softball, and soccer on dedicated fields.

We have several multi-purpose fields which can be used for cricket, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, ultimate frisbee, football, and other sports.

If court sports are your game, we have those too.  Courts for basketball, tennis/pickleball, handball, volleyball, and bocce. We even have an in-line hockey rink.

Many local sports organizations call our parks “home” so we strongly encourage you to meet the deadlines for each season as listed below.

Field Reservation Requests

Organizations are required to apply for a permit every season.  The spring/summer applications are for the months of April, May, June, and July, and the fall applications are for August, September, October, and November.   This helps us accommodate as many teams as possible while not overburdening the parks.  Organizations that reserved fields/courts in the prior year are given priority for the same fields in the current year.

  • Spring/Summer

Requests should be submitted 10/3/25 to 11/17/25 for the 2026 spring/summer season  (If we are not able to accommodate your request, the application fee will be refunded.)  Spring/Summer Field Application

Field Reservation Process

Application

Please be ready to answer all questions in the application and to pay the $100 application fee.  You will be asked for dates and times in your request, please be as specific as possible. “Blanketing” a field will result in a delay in the processing of your request.

Completion of this application does not constitute approval.  After we receive your application and fee, staff will review and assign your organization dates and times based on availability, and invoice you for the reservations (if applicable).  Approved reservations will receive a permit via email.

Fees

Field/court fees are assessed per field/per day according to the current fee schedule.

Resident/Non-Resident/Commercial Organization Status

In order to promote our local teams and players, resident organizations receive a discounted rate, non-resident organizations get a regular rate, and commercial organizations have a commercial rate.

Teams or organizations that qualify for a resident rate are those with a roster of 50% or more Lower Paxton residents.  You will be required to submit a roster showing the addresses at least two weeks prior to the start of your season.  Failure to do so will result in being invoiced for the difference.

Commercial use is defined as any activity conducted for financial or commercial gain including private lessons, classes, or group activities where the lesson, class or activity has a fee or other monetary barrier to entry.  “Commercial use” also includes any lesson, class, or commercial activities taking place on park system property that is associated with any trade, occupation, profession, business, or franchise.

New commercial users must submit a field request application for staff to review.  After staff review, the submission will be placed on the agenda for review/approval by the Parks and Recreation Board at a regularly scheduled public meeting.  Returning commercial organizations do not need Parks and Recreation Board approval.
