Meet Damian Rexroth

Damian Rexroth is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is a vibrant expression of color, emotion, and raw storytelling. Deeply influenced by abstract and surrealist art, he explores the complexities of human experience through bold compositions, layered textures, and expressive brushwork. Inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, Rexroth’s work blends structured forms with organic movement, creating pieces that invite introspection and personal interpretation.

Born and raised in Harrisburg, PA, Rexroth’s artistic journey began in childhood. He first learned the fundamentals of art at Harrisburg Christian School, where he developed a foundational appreciation for creative expression. As he grew, his exposure to various artistic influences deepened. During his youth, he admired the sketches and drawings of Andy, Tim, and Matt Golden—cousins of his peer, Daniel Golden, who later introduced him to graphic design and Photoshop. This exposure to both traditional and digital art expanded his creative language and approach.

Artistic creativity runs deep in his family. His mother, Roshaye Johnson was a graphic designer, and his uncle, Dewayne Dickey painted and designed clothing, further shaping his appreciation for different mediums and techniques. This early environment fostered a love for all styles of artwork, leading him to develop a unique visual language that merges bold colors, symbolic elements, and emotionally charged imagery.

Rexroth’s paintings often explore themes of identity, conflict, and transformation, using layered colors and abstract figures to evoke deep personal and collective narratives. His approach is instinctive and dynamic, allowing each piece to evolve organically as he works through emotions on the canvas. His work is a balance between the intentional and the spontaneous, reflecting the unpredictable nature of both art and life.

As he continues to refine his craft, Rexroth remains committed to pushing creative boundaries while honoring the inspirations andDamian artwork Limelight on Local Artists Lower Paxton artistic lineage that shaped him. He is currently preparing for the Villains, Misfits & Anti-Heroes exhibition, where he will showcase works that embody his distinct blend of abstract storytelling and emotional depth. His goal is to bring engaging and thought-provoking art into community spaces, making his work accessible to a wider audience.

With a deep appreciation for artistic exploration, Rexroth sees his work as an ongoing dialogue between color, emotion, and experience—a visual language that speaks beyond words.

Meet Ashton Hockenburry
Ashton Hockenburry headshot

Ashton has always had an artistic side, and five years ago she began to focus on painting and wood crafts. Door hangers continue to be a fun specialty item for her. After her first successful craft show in November of 2024, she expanded her workmanship to offer a broader variety. Then in April of 2025, Ashton completed a small sewing project with her own sewing machine and quickly discovered her passion for sewing. While she continues to craft door hangers and wooden Christmas ornaments, she now focuses more on sewing to make tote bags, boxed bags, burp clothes, wristlet keyrings, wristlets pouches, and much more. Ashton is excited to make a quilt for her niece in the next few months. A few years ago, she would never have imagined herself doing craft shows and displaying her artwork. She enjoys it immensely and it definitely keeps her busy!
