The Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township hereby gives public notice that a public hearing for Ordinance 22-06, is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2022. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Municipal Building, 425 Prince Street, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.   Ordinance 22-06 will be discussed prior to the public hearing at the September 7, 2022, Planning Commission meeting. 

Ordinance 22-06 amends Chapter 203 of the Zoning Ordinance, Section 303.A, to modify the Lower Paxton Township Zoning Map (the “Zoning Map”) to rezone land from the R-1, Low Density Residential District to the OSD, Open Space Development Overlay District. Ordinance 22-06 amends the Zoning Map to rezone from the (R1) Low Density Residential District to the (OSD) Open Space Development Overlay District for the parcel known as Dauphin County Tax Parcel No 35-004-015 (29.40 acres). 

Ordinance 22-06 also contains a repealer clause, a severability clause and an effective date.

Following the public hearing on September 20, 2022, the Board of Supervisors will consider enactment of Ordinance No. 22-06.

Ordinance 22-05 amends Chapter 203 of the Zoning Ordinance, Section 303.A, to modify the Lower Paxton Township Zoning Map (the “Zoning Map”) to rezone land from the R-1, Low Density Residential District to the TND, Traditional Neighborhood Development Overlay District. Ordinance 22-05 amends the Zoning Map to rezone from the (R1) Low Density Residential District to the (TND) Traditional Neighborhood Development Overlay District for the parcel known as Dauphin County Tax Parcel No 35-066-002 (8.94 acres). 
Ordinance 22-05 also contains a repealer clause, a severability clause and an effective date.

The Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township hereby gives public notice that a public hearing for Ordinance 22-03, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, 2022. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Municipal Building, 425 Prince Street, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The request will be discussed prior to the public hearing at the April 6, 2022, Planning Commission meeting. Ordinance 22-03 amends Chapter 203 of the Zoning Ordinance, Article III, to modify the Lower Paxton Township Zoning Ordinance to adopt and amend Section 319, Subsection D(9) "Permitted By Right Uses" and F(6)(A) "Overall Requirements" to permit a Conveyorized Car Wash in the RRD Zoning District when the use abuts an arterial street.

The Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township hereby gives public notice that a public hearing for Ordinance 21-09, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Ordinance 21-09 amends Chapter 203 of the Zoning Ordinance, Section 303.A, to modify the Lower Paxton Township Zoning Map (the “Zoning Map”) to rezone land from the A-1, Agricultural Residential District, and the IN, Institutional District, to the NDD, Neighborhood Design District. Ordinance 21-09 amends the Zoning Map to rezone from the (AR) Agricultural Residential and the IN, Institutional District, to the (NDD) Neighborhood Design District for the parcels known as Dauphin County Tax Parcel Nos 35-007-030 (76 acres - AR); 35-007-031 (23.5 acres- AR); 35-007-010 (39 acres – IN); and 35-019-007 (55.17 acres – IN). 

Ordinance 21-06 also contains a repealer clause, a severability clause and an effective date.

PUBLIC NOTICE - Issued November 22, 2021

The Lower Paxton Township budgets for fiscal year 2022 have been prepared and submitted to the Board of Supervisors by the Township Manager. The proposed budgets are available for public inspection beginning Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the Finance Office of the Township Municipal Center, 425 Prince Street, Harrisburg, PA, 17109 from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.  A summary of the 2022 budgets are also available on the Township website www.lowerpaxton-pa.gov.  The budgets are scheduled for action by the Board of Supervisors at their Tuesday, December 14, 2021, business meeting, which begins at 7:00 PM in room 171 of the Municipal Center.

Public Notice - Issued June 24, 2021

The Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township hereby gives public notice that a public hearing on Ordinance 21-03, is scheduled for Tuesday, July 6, 2021. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Municipal Building, 425 Prince Street, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, Room 171. 

 The Township of Lower Paxton desires to update and amend its rules and regulations concerning the maintenance of certain wildlife within the Township; and 

Ordinance 21-03 Amends Chapter 203, Article IV, Section 403, Subsections D-2 “Bees, Keeping Of’ and D-12 :Pets, Keeping Of”, adding a new Subsection D-4 “Chickens, Keeping Of’; 

The Board of Supervisors finds that these amendments are necessary for the protection of the health, safety, and welfare of the Township residents and consistent with the Code of the Township of Lower Paxton and the Second Class Township Code, Act 69 of 1933, P.L. 103 §607 and 1529; and 

The Township demonstrates additions and deletions to the Code by striking out deleted text and underlining added text

The Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania that the Lower Paxton Township Codified Ordinances are hereby amended as follows: 

Section 1: Incorporation by Reference. The above recitals and all referenced documents are incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth herein.  

Section 2: Chapter 203, Article IV, Section 403, §D-2 “Bees, Keeping Of.” is revised by adding and deleting text as indicated in Attachment “A”, incorporated herein as if fully set forth. 

Section 3: Chapter 203, Article IV, Section 403, §D-4 “Chickens, Keeping Of.” is newly added text as indicated in Attachment “A”, incorporated herein as if fully set forth.

Section 4: Chapter 203, Article IV, Section 403, §D-12 “Pets, Keeping Of.” is revised by adding and deleting text as indicated in Attachment “A”, incorporated herein as if fully set forth. 

Section 5: Chapter 203, Article IV, Section 403, §D-4 through §D-19 is revised by adding and deleting text as indicated in Attachment “A”, incorporated herein as if fully set forth. 

Section 6: Repeal. All ordinances, or parts thereof, that are in conflict or inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict, and the provisions of this Ordinance shall be and remain controlling as to the matters regulated, herein.   

Section 7: Savings and Severability.  The provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed severable and the invalidity or unenforceability of any one provision, part, or clause thereof shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the other provisions, parts, or clauses hereof.   If any provision or clause of this Ordinance, or portion thereof, shall be held by any court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be illegal, void, or unenforceable in such jurisdiction, the remainder of such provision shall not be thereby affected and shall be given full effect, without regard to the invalid portion.   

Section 8: Incorporation Into the Code of Ordinances. By this Ordinance, all provisions adopted herein shall be incorporated into the Township of Lower Paxton Code of Ordinances by incorporating the adopted text, revising any index, appendix, or table of contents, alphabetizing, and numbering each section in accordance and consistent with the construction and format of the codification of ordinances.

 Section 9: Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective five (5) days from the date of adoption by the Board of Supervisors.  Following the public hearing on July 6, 2021, the Board of Supervisors will consider the enactment of Ordinance No. 21-03.

Ordinance 21-01 also contains a repealer clause, a severability clause and an effective date.

The Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township hereby gives public notice that a public hearing for Ordinance 21-02, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 15, 2021. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 pm in the Township Municipal Building, 425 Prince Street, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
Ordinance 21-02 amends Chapter 203 of the Zoning Ordinance, Section 303.A, to modify the Lower Paxton Township Zoning Map (the "Zoning Map") to rezone land from the (CG), Commercial General District to the (TC), Towne Center District. Informational Statement: April 2021
Information was recently released in error. This statement is to provide clarification.
The McNaughton Company will appear before the Planning Commission on June 2, 2021 and the Board of Supervisors on June 15, 2021, regarding the rezoning of a portion of Autumn Oaks Extended from AR to R-1 Low Density. More details will be released 30 days prior to the meetings.
Additionally, Ordinance 21-02 amending Chapter 203 of the Zoning Ordinance, Section 303.A, to modify the Lower Paxton Township Zoning Map (the “Zoning Map”) to rezone land from the (CG), Commercial General District to the (TC), Towne Center District. Ordinance 21-02 amends the Zoning Map to rezone from the (CG) Commercial General District to the (TC) Towne Center District will also appear on the Planning Commission agenda for June 2 and the Board of Supervisors agenda for the June 15, 2021 for consideration.

Public Notice - Issued February 5, 2021:
SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY; NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township will be offering for sale a climbing wall structure and associated liquid asset components. The climbing wall and associated equipment are located within Lower Paxton Township’s former Friendship Center, currently under operation as the Friendship YMCA, 5000 Commons Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17112.

Bidding for the personal property will open on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at 8:00 AM, and will conclude on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 1 PM, at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud in Room 174 of the Municipal Center. The Township reserves the right to reject all bids submitted if it is deemed in the best interest of Lower Paxton Township. The Board of Supervisors will take action to award the bid at the March 2, 2021, public meeting.
